Metallica through the never DVD

Tras más de tres décadas marcando la historia del rock, Metallica, la famosa banda norteamericana de thrash metal con millones de discos vendidos alrededor del mundo, cuenta su historia en la gran pantalla. Bajo el nombre homónimo de la séptima canción de su disco 'The Black Album': Through The Never', dirigida por el cineasta Nimród Antal, es un largometraje grabado en 3D que pretende ir más allá del género documental de otras producciones como 'U2 3D' o 'Never Say Never', e intenta innovar en nuevos conceptos que unan de forma coherente el mundo de la música y el del cine. En el film aparecen los miembros del grupo: Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett y a Robert Trujillo, que comparten reparto con el actor Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), que interpreta a un joven miembro de una banda que es enviado para cumplir una importante misión mientras que la banda Metallica da un mítico concierto.

Portnoy Sheehan, Macalpine Sherinian live in Tokyo DVD

En el año 2012, el baterista Mike Portnoy, el bajista Billy Sheehan, el guitarrista Tony MacAlpine, y el teclista Derek Sherinian, unen fuerzas para presentar un proyecto demetal progresivo, enfocado para y por el directo, en el que tienen cabida los temas más representativos de las diferentes formaciones por las que han pasado los integrantes del mismo. El resultado final, como es natural debido a la enorme calidad como instrumentistas que atesoran los componentes que la conforman, es un producto impecable, con una calidad que roza la perfección absoluta dentro de este género musical, y que hace que el virtuosismo elevado a la enésima potencia parezca la cosa más fácil del mundo, cuando evidentemente no lo es.

El 3 de septiembre de 2013 se pone a la venta la actuación que la banda ofrece el 14 de noviembre de 2012 en la sala de conciertos The Zepp, en Tokyo, Japón. Este show salió publicado con el nombre de Live in Tokyo, y en él se incluyen composiciones de las aventuras en solitario de sus miembros, asi como canciones de Dream Theater,Talas, Liquid Tension Experiment, Billy Cobham y Jeff Beck. Una grabación espectacular en todos los sentidos.
